Special Notice

We at AAMW recognize that Coronavirus, or COVID-19 is an emerging and evolving situation and we are all closely monitoring information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as other governmental and non-governmental sources.

We want to do our part to help ensure that the members of our communities do everything they can to mitigate the likelihood of illness. With this in mind, all upcoming AAMW events are being postponed indefinitely.

As we face this unprecedented challenge posed by this pandemic, we at AAMW are committed to protecting our community. The CDC emphasizes that we all play an important role in the effort to delay the spread of the virus and reduce the impact of the disease. Most important is to limit non-essential physical contact with others until the virus is contained.

The CDC has indicated that the symptoms of the illness itself can range from mild to severe flulike symptoms and respiratory illness, and each individual is uniquely susceptible. Therefore, we encourage every member of our community to mitigate the risk of infection by following some common practices:

1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
2. Cover your cough or sneeze with a disposable tissue and throw it in the trash. If you do not have a tissue available, sneeze or cough into your arm or clothing not your hand.
3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
4. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
5. Stay home if you are sick unless it is necessary to seek medical attention.
6. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol‐ based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
